Scratch Programming for Kids

This week, our guest technology teacher taught us some basic computer programming using a program called Scratch. Please ask your parents before downloading the program onto your home computer. :)

Students in the Ross/Russell homerooms were taught how to create a Sprite from scratch and import different stages for their Sprites. Everyone worked so hard! The next time our guest teacher comes for a visit, he will be teaching how to add movements and sounds to our creations. How fun!

  2. Programming something from "Scratch". What a cool and engaging way to incorporate technology in to the classroom. The students appear to be enjoying the lesson as much as the "guest teacher" appears to be enjoying the teaching. Wish I had teachers that would have given me such an opportunity, especially since I am "scratching" my head trying to figure out how your class created a monkey on the moon, a cat in a creepy forest, and Elvis doing the disco all in one day!
